Tell about yourself and your background! *
I was raised in Houston, TX with music teachers as parents. I participated in musical theatre for 10+ years learning how to perform well onstage and learning how to run things behind the scenes. I then transitioned to training in the circus arts for just over a year, specifically training in aerial silks, strength and conditioning, tumbling, stilt walking, unicycle, tight-wire walking, and juggling. I then moved to Northern CA where I joined a church ministry that trained specifically in drumming, dance, and weight training/conditioning. With our performance abilities, we traveled back and forth out of California to over 15 countries sharing love and joy to people on the streets. After 3.5 years of doing that, I moved to Orlando wanting to pursue live performance at the theme parks. It was here I met my wife, Naomi, and then we got married in January of 2021! My pursuit of stunt work started here in Orlando during the pandemic. I found a local stunt gym (FORGE by The Stunt Collective) and started showing up to open gyms meeting people and learning new skills. Nowadays, I’m training into the local Pirates Dinner Adventure which has given me some practice for stunts. Additionally, my wife and I will be shooting our first short film (heavily featuring stunts) in which I will be stunt coordinator. Lastly, Naomi and I are planning to move to Atlanta to pursue film/tv/commercial work and I’m wanting to get into the hustle of stunt work up there if I can.
What inspired you to become a stunt performer?
I did a little bit of martial arts when I was younger and loved it. Jackie Chan has always been one of my hero’s and I’ve always loved watching the fight scenes of any movie and seeing the intricate details of the types throws and falls… amazing.
What is your greatest skill as a stunt performer, is there a stunt behind it?
I feel like my greatest skill actually takes place in my mind. Like a lot of people when about to do an extreme stunt of sorts, my mind likes to try and psych itself out. However, I find myself in those moments, after the attempted psych out in my brain, I just do it. Completely go for it, no hesitation.
What is the best part about being a stunt performer?
One of the best parts about being a stunt performer is having a wide variety of things you could be called for. Falling 100 times in a day, sure! Getting thrown off a building, great! Fire stunt, let’s GO!
Tell your all-time favorite stunt story!
Getting to be a part of a sizzle that was being submitted to Netflix Brazil was super fun! Got to work with my wife, and a fun crew of stunt performers and actors.
What advice would you give other stunt performers?
The advice I would give is; if this is what you REALLY want to do, keep the mindset that you WILL do it. Push yourself, while at the same time, know and communicate your limits.
Anything else you'd like to tell the community about?
I’m looking for people to practice and network with, especially for when my wife and I move up to Atlanta! I’d love to connect.
