Tell your all-time favorite stunt story!
Detroit Auto Rama 2017. I jumped the General Lee 134 ft 24 ft high. I was so nervous " more then usual " this was my 1st time landing on asphalt. The jump was being lived streamed all over the world and there had to be 15k fans in attendance. We jumped the general lee behind the cobo center on the city street. What a rush. Trying to remain as calm as possible sweating in my safety gear waiting for the signal to go. I remembered thinking to myself what an honor to be jumping the most famous car in the world at the most famous car show in the world. I hit the ramp at 69mph and landed pretty hard and lost my brakes. I was headed for a support column that held up the trains .missed the column by about 2 ft. Boy what a rush. Only suffered a small fracture in my left wrist. It was incredible.
What advice would you give other stunt performers?
It's ok to be afraid. Remember fear keeps you safe. If you accept that your afraid early on it you can learn how to control it . It's when u act all big and tuff and lie to yourself that your not afraid. Then when your about to do the stunt the fear will hit you hard and it will be to late the fear will be overwhelming and in control. Remember fear keeps you safe.
